3daysofdesign x Bolia

In nature’s ever-changing landscape, we move, we change and we grow. When we are surrounded by tranquility and beauty, we find new inspiration, and we develop new ways of living, working and being creative. Constantly striving for a positive change for the better. With this in mind, in 2022 we participated in the annual design festival, 3daysofdesign in Copenhagen. Here you could experience a very special version of our Scandinavian design universe, displayed in our shop by Kongens Have.

    • Poppykalas x Bolia

On each of the three days, our design universe provided the setting for a Pop-up Flower Workshop with Poppykalas. The first of the lucky participants to arrive could create their very own signature Poppykalas bouquet with colourful, fresh organic flowers. The workshop was carefully guided by the creative founder of Poppykalas – floral designer Thilde.

    • A unique experience

In addition to the vibrant floral universe, you could see this year’s finalists and winners of the Bolia Design Awards, experience Live DJ Sofa Sessions, see the beautiful paper braid on our Cord sideboard being created by hand, enjoy freshly brewed morning coffee served by the talented baristas from La Cabra, hear Inspiring Talks with a line-up of passionate creatives talking about their respective industries within lifestyle and design – and much, much more.

    • A sneak peek at the new collection

During 3daysofdesign, we presented the first sneak peek of our new collection. Beautiful reinterpretations and new versions of the series we love, and a wealth of design inspiration in tranquil colours and natural tactility all took centre stage in an artistic backdrop of floral installations and wild, Scandinavian nature.

    • Inspirational Talks

Under the theme “A change to something better”, we invited a group of passionate creatives from different industries within design and lifestyle to hold an Inspirational Talk, where they shared interesting views on current topics within their field.

    • Louise Byg Kongsholm, pej gruppen

Louise is the owner and CEO of pej gruppen. She is responsible for a number of books on trends and consumer behaviour and is often quoted in the press as a trend researcher specialising in trends, zeitgeists, consumer behaviour, trade, fashion and interiors. Her Inspirational Talk was based on the changes in consumer behaviour and provided an inspiring insight into the most important current trends.

    • Zoë & Johnathon Little, Koto Design

Zoë and Johnathon founded Koto Design in collaboration with architect Theo Dales. Koto creates beautifully formed, architect-designed, energy-neutral homes and cabins. For 3daysofdesign, Koto shared their thoughts on creating modular cabins based on the Scandinavian design language, which allow us to escape back to nature. They also talked about how they make sustainability their top priority in their work.

    • Esben Piper, La Cabra Coffee

Esben is the founder of La Cabra Coffee, a modern coffee roastery with a passion for creating unique coffee experiences. Like us, their hometown is Aarhus, and in every Bolia store we exclusively serve a bean that La Cabra has specially selected for us. Esben invited us into a world where the art of coffee is borne by pure passion and where nothing is left to chance. A simple way of thinking, where the focus is on using only the best raw materials and the highest quality.

    • Studio Nooi, designers

Studio Nooi was founded by Giulia Pesce and Ruggero Bastita in Torino, Italy. They studied design in Denmark and find inspiration in the Scandinavian design language. Nooi’s design is always the result of good collaboration between people and is influenced by society, art, nature and cultural heritage, where the designers are closely involved in all phases of the project development. They have created the beautiful Visti armchair, which was launched in our spring collection, and they talked about their journey from budding designers to present day, where they have now firmly established themselves in the Scandinavian design world.

    • Lars Lyse Hansen, Bolia

As the world changes and technology provides us with new, better opportunities to meet and collaborate, our working lives become more fluid and we seek the freedom to allow curiosity to drive our creativity and ideas. Lars is Bolia’s CEO, and he will be sharing his point of view on movements within the workplace. How you can revolutionise your way of creating a flexible workplace, where there is room for creativity, new ideas and challenging the ordinary.

    • Bolia Design Awards

Every year since 2007, we’ve paid tribute to the new talents in the industry at Bolia Design Awards. We love to explore creativity, the new perspectives, exciting use of materials, and most importantly, we love to learn more about how we can change ourselves and the design world into something better and more sustainable. And if you want to join us on our journey, you can already enter next year’s competition with up to 3 designs.
