Certified and safe materials

We focus on using sustainable and healthy materials in our designs. You can get an overview of our certified materials here.

FSC®-certified wood and veneer

All wood we use is FSC®-certified. This means that it comes from responsible and legal forestry, which protects biodiversity in the forests that the wood comes from. FSC is the world’s most ambitious global certification for responsible forestry and considers all three sustainability parameters – social, economic and environmental. It is also the only certification and labelling system of its kind that is backed by recognised NGOs such as WWF and World Forests. Read more at FSC Denmark.

All our upholstery fabrics and Soft Collection are STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certified. This means that the textile has been tested for harmful substances and is completely harmless to human and animal health. The testing is conducted by independent OEKO-TEX® institutes, taking into account both regulated and non-regulated substances that can be harmful to human health. In many cases, limit values go well beyond national and international requirements. The criteria are updated at least once a year and expanded on the basis of new scientific expertise and requirements.

The EU Ecolabel

The EU Ecolabel is the official European eco-label, with theaim of reducing the overall environmental impact from production and consumption. That's why consideration is given to the entire product life cycle – and the environmental problems that arise along the way – when determining the requirements that certified products must meet. For the benefit of people, the environment and the earth’s resources.

Certified upholstery fabrics

A selection of our upholstery fabrics are certified with the EU Ecolabel and therefore have a smaller environmental footprint. This applies to the wool fabrics Laine and Gaja C2C, the incredibly durable Step Melange and Bergo, which is made from 98% recycled polyester.

Our first design with the EU Ecolabel

The beautiful Swing dining chair, with oak veneer seat, has been certified with the EU Ecolabel – which puts it among the least environmentally harmful chairs you can buy. The chair is handmade in Latvia in FSC®-certified oak, and made to last. Discover the Swing series

Our upholstery leathers – Quattro and Austin Nubuck – are LEATHER STANDARD by OEKO-TEX® certified, which means that they are, like STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®-certified textiles, tested for harmful substances and are completely harmless to human and animal health.

Discover our leather types

Traceable leather

All the leather we use is from either Europe or Australia and is traceable. This means that we can trace the hide's journey all the way from the manufacturer and to your living room. This not only ensures that the leather is of the best quality, but also that it comes exclusively from areas where there are laws in place to protect animal welfare. The leather is a by-product of food production and we only use the best quality, making it a timeless and durable choice.

Down and feathers

Down and feathers are what give you the inviting comfort and natural durability in your sofa, chair or pouf. All our down and feathers are responsibly produced and certified, ensuring transparency and guaranteeing that they only come from animals that have been treated humanely. They also comply with Standard EN 12935, which requires that the material is processed under sanitary and hygienic conditions.
