German Meike Harde's intention with the Lomi sofa was to combine distinctive lounge aesthetics with the more rigorous Scandinavian design universe. The result is an elegant sofa that showcases an abundance of craftsmanship details, where soft, embracing curves meet in a simple profile. A genuine new classic with great potential.
The Lomi sofa is Meike Harde's first sofa for Bolia, but she's already a well-known and familiar face in the design world. For Bolia, among other items, she has designed Silent, Cyla and Balloon, all of which embody her distinctive design DNA. A DNA that covers designs of all sizes. All featuring her signature style that can best be described as functional elegance, where the objective is to create synergy between form and function. Between practical and aesthetic. So even the smallest detail becomes significant.
Lomi is an elegant fusion of Scandinavian aesthetics combined with an embracing lounge style. The lounge style is apparent in the infinitely soft cushions, which are positioned on a base of no-zag springs and connected closely together to provide exceptional comfort. The seat cushion looks like it is composed of two separate cushions but is actually one unified cushion that features layers of springs and filling for optimal and complete comfort. Legs and frames are specifically placed to add an elegant and lightweight dimension to the sofa, and Lomi's interior is made of FSC-certified wood for an authentic construction and solid durability.
Cushions and armrests are slightly rounded to create a curved profile, and the armrests consist of two separate pieces of fabric, sewn together by two seams to provide a unique design detail. The sofa comes with extra scatter cushions that reinforce the comfort and provide support wherever you sit on the sofa. A carefully considered detail that enhances the appearance, comfort and functionality – in keeping with Meike Harde's design approach and philosophy.
