Handmade paper cord and French wicker

Natural details

We love using natural elements in warm, natural materials, such as the delicate French wicker in the Cana series and the Cord series’ fine and durable paper cord, which is made by hand in Denmark and is FSC®-certified.

The fine paper cord is handmade in Denmark by Randers Reb, which has produced the highest quality rope and cord since 1840. The cord was and is used in many furniture classics by designers such as Hans J. Wegner, Finn Juhl, Kaare Klint and Poul Kjærholm due to its high strength and durability. Today, the cord is made from FSC®-certified paper and is 100% biodegradable.

Danish Cord is treated with a wax that helps protect it. Therefore, it requires no other maintenance than regular dusting. If coloured liquids such as red wine, fruit juice and similar are spilled, they may discolour the surface – wipe these away with a damp cloth immediately.

Natural wicker behaves in the same way as solid wood. Among other things, this means that wicker furniture is affected by its surroundings and can therefore contract or expand depending on where the furniture is placed in your home.

Generally, wicker furniture is easy to maintain and a clean, well-wrung cloth is enough to maintain the design. We recommend that you clean your furniture as needed, depending on how often you use it. If you touch the wickerwork often, frequent cleaning may be necessary.
