NEW SCANDINAVIAN DESIGN
While we are born and raised in Denmark, our design story transcends borders and is shaped by some of the world’s most talented people. It comes from the hands, minds and hearts of more than 50 wonderful designers from around the world and is brought to life through a shared passion for New Scandinavian Design. From emerging talents to established and renowned studios, we are united by a common dream: that beautiful spaces can transform the way we live for the better.
OUR DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
For us, great design is all about how it makes you feel. The pieces that become part of your everyday rituals – morning coffees, quiet afternoon moments, cosy sofa snuggles and stories of love. That is why each design is crafted to shape beautiful, luxurious spaces, made to last for decades and for generations to come. Our design philosophy is a celebration of beauty, luxury, quality and longevity – deeply rooted in our love for nature, people, life and creativity. We are passionate about creating designs that are not only beautiful and long-lasting, but also awaken the senses and invite you to touch, feel and fall in love.
Behind every design is a person, a story and a way of seeing the world, driven by curiosity, vulnerability and the courage to imagine something new. Something even better. That is why our designs are shaped through close creative collaborations with talented designers from across Europe and beyond – from emerging talents to established studios, some of which have been with us for more than 25 years. Each beautiful individual brings their own perspective, their own craft, and their own quiet magic to creating new perspectives on Scandinavian design.

My style is characterised by keeping the focus on the detail and "edge" that separates my designs from the crowd. One of my biggest influences is to register how much diversity there is among people and try to meet the very different needs that it creates.

A MORE SUSTAINABLE FOUNDATION
We focus on extending the life of each design through smarter use of materials and circular solutions, more efficient packaging, and a thoughtful approach to sourcing and production. One way we do this is by designing sofas with changeable covers to extend their lifetime and making components replaceable, while sharing the stories behind each design. Our ambition is to create spaces where you can leave your worries behind, let go and recharge – and homes where life, inspiration and stories of love can unfold.

DESIGNED FOR CIRCULARITY
Circularity isn’t a buzzword – it’s a practical design strategy with real impact. It begins by rethinking how a product is built. By embracing a component-based approach, we create designs that are not only easier to repair and upgrade, but also built to stand the test of time. Think renewable parts, modular construction and smart joints that invite maintenance and can be recycled rather than discarded.
Our approach to circular design is built on a few simple principles. We create furniture that is made to last, easy to repair and update, while always striving to be transparent about the materials and craftsmanship behind every design.
-
LONGEVITY & DURABILITY:
Durable materials and components are chosen to last. When renewal isn’t possible, materials are selected to age gracefully and remain easy to care for throughout their lifetime.
-
RENEWABILITY:
Where natural wear is expected, we strive to design components that can be replaced. This makes it easier to repair, renew and extend the life of every design.
-
MAINTAINABILITY:
Every part should be easy to clean, maintain, and repair – so your design stays beautiful and functional.
-
RECYCLABILITY:
Considering the entire lifecycle, we choose materials that can be separated and recycled while avoiding unnecessary combinations that are difficult to recycle. It’s one more way to keep valuable resources in circulation for as long as possible.
COMPONENT DESIGN
When a seat or backrest wears out, the solution shouldn’t require replacing the entire design – only the part. This approach reduces waste, extends longevity and gives you more ownership over your furniture’s lifespan. If a part of a design is likely to wear out and cannot be restored to its original appearance or function, it should be designed to be easily replaceable throughout the product’s lifetime. This approach – called Component-Based Design – is a required standard for all new designs.
Furniture components designed to be replaceable in our new designs include: covers, upholstered seats, joints and fittings, electrical components and mechanical components.
From the very first sketch to the final design, we are guided by six powerful principles: Repair, Reduce, Rethink, Recycle, Refuse and Reuse. These six R’s are not just guidelines – they are the foundation of everything we create. By embracing them, we design pieces that are not only beautiful, but made to last. Each one reflects our commitment to a future where thoughtful design, quality and durability go hand in hand, shaping products that endure and enrich life for years to come.
FROM SKETCH TO FINAL PRODUCT
Every new collection starts with a creative brief for our designers, who turn our design dreams into inspiring sketches, product ideas and prototypes. Most important of all is the sustainable mindset behind each design, covering material choice, longevity, construction, component design and durability.
-
QUALITY & LONGEVITY
For us, quality and longevity aren’t just concepts but a philosophy that runs through every design. With a commitment to longevity, we ensure that each design is crafted using carefully selected materials and designed to last for generations. The essence of our approach is to encourage consumers to choose less but better, fostering a culture of durable and timeless design.
We want to give you an honest look inside one of our most popular sofas – layer by layer. A cross-section reveals the inner construction, from the frame and springs to the foam, padding, and feathers.
Here you’ll see a cross-section of our beloved Cosima modular sofa. It’s more than just a technical diagram – it’s our way of sharing the craftsmanship, comfort, and durability behind our designs.
Our materials are carefully curated with respect for timeless quality, inspired by the changing seasons, the unique textures of nature, soft hues, and the calming atmosphere that surrounds us. From rich bouclé and traceable leather to FSC™- certified wood and natural stone, every element is selected for its beauty, durability and authenticity.

THE HANDS THAT SHAPE OUR IDEAS
Our craftsmen and craftswomen are the true stars of our business, shaping our ideas and bringing your design dreams to life. While our team of designers lives and works all around the globe, 89% of our designs are crafted in Europe. By creating our designs closer to where our customers live, we can minimise the environmental impact of transportation. And as our furniture is made to order, we don’t keep large warehouses filled with generic models.
The strongest design proposals are selected, refined and perfected before the physical production begins. It is a process shaped through close collaboration between designer and carefully selected manufacturer. From the initial brief to the final reveal, the journey takes around 18 months – and now it is here: The New Collection. A world of beautifully crafted designs in new colours, materials and shapes.
