OUR CERTIFIED AND LUXURIOUS MATERIALS

EVERLASTING FABRICS AND MATERIALS

There is nothing more soothing and inviting than tactile design. Tactility can be expressed through shape and form, craftsmanship, detailing and soft edges, or through smooth surfaces, soft fabrics and rich textures. Our materials are carefully curated with respect for timeless quality, inspired by the changing seasons, the unique textures of nature, soft hues and the calming atmosphere that surrounds us. Choosing the right materials lies at the heart of creating designs that are not only beautiful, but made to last.

    • DURABLE, TACTILE AND CERTIFIED

Behind every material lies a story. Where it comes from, how it is made and the impact it leaves behind. That is why we work with carefully selected materials and recognised certifications that support responsible sourcing, transparency and traceability. All our wooden designs are made from FSC™-certified wood and other controlled materials. All our fabrics are OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified, while all leather types are traceable and OEKO-TEX® LEATHER STANDARD certified, meaning it has been tested for harmful substances and meets rigorous safety standards to help protect people’s health.

    TACTILE FABRICS

Our collection of sofas, armchairs, dining chairs and cushions is designed to envelop you in softness and luxury – from traceable leathers to rich fabrics such as linen, wool, velvet and bouclé. Each material is chosen not only for its texture and beauty, but also for its character and durability, bringing comfort, beauty and longevity to everyday life. For every textile, we trace its journey from where the fibre was grown to where it was produced, recycled, dyed and woven.

    • DESIGNED FOR YOU AND YOUR BEST FRIENDS

Some love stories begin with wagging tails and a sofa that’s seen it all. That’s why our sofas are made for real life – muddy paws, Sunday cuddles, zoomies and everything in between. Crafted for durability, most of our sofa series – as well as all our outdoor sofas – are designed with changeable covers. They help extend the lifespan of your sofa while making it easy to refresh its look over time, allowing it to evolve alongside your home and the life around it.

    TRACEABLE  LEATHERS

What if your leather sofa could tell a story? A story about its origin and the journey it took from farm to manufacturer. Thanks to our high standards for leather sourcing, it can. Every hide is fully traceable, ensuring complete traceability from the farm to the manufacturer. We source exclusively from Italian farms, where hides are a by-product of the food industry, ensuring that nothing goes to waste before being transformed into luxuriously soft leather. We’re also proud to say that all our leather qualities are OEKO-TEX® LEATHER STANDARD certified.

    • CERTIFIED AND LONG-LASTING WOOD

Wood is one of nature’s most enduring materials. It brings natural warmth, grows more beautiful with time and develops character through everyday life, making it a material designed to last for generations. All our wooden designs are crafted from FSC™-certified wood and other controlled materials, supporting responsible forestry while helping protect biodiversity, ecosystems and local communities.

    SOLID WOOD

Inspired by nature’s constant evolution, we place materials like solid wood at the heart of our designs. Beautiful, durable and richly tactile, it brings a sense of warmth and authenticity to every space. Carefully selected for its natural character and lasting strength, it allows us to create timeless designs made to be enjoyed for years to come.

Veneer is made from thin slices of wood, carefully cut from tree trunks to preserve the natural beauty and character of solid wood. Its refined and stable construction requires less raw material, making it a versatile choice for timeless designs.

Our teak is 100% FSC™-certified and sourced from responsibly managed plantations in Panama. The trees are planted on grassland, never at the expense of natural forests, and grown with minimal use of pesticides. Undergrowth is cleared by hand and returned to the soil as natural fertiliser, supporting both tree growth and biodiversity.

    • EXCLUSIVE MARBLE AND TRAVERTINE

Marble and travertine are breathtaking natural stones, formed over millions of years and shaped by nature. Each piece reveals unique patterns, textures and tones, meaning no two stones are ever alike. From the distinctive character of marble to the soft, dreamlike expression of travertine.

    • HANDCRAFTED AND CERTIFIED RUGS

Each of our rugs is 100% handmade using traditional techniques and crafted from materials such as wool, jute, recycled PET and specially developed yarns created exclusively for BOLIA designs. We partner only with responsible manufactures supported by amfori BSCI. All rugs are Care & Fair labelled and OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified. Using wool in its purest, often undyed form alongside carefully selected dyes, each rug reflects timeless craftsmanship, understated elegance and lasting beauty.

Crafted ceramics are both beautiful and durable, adding a unique touch to your interior. We offer dinnerware in tactile stoneware and fine porcelain – each with distinct aesthetic qualities suited to any table setting and home.

Glass is made from natural materials and is inherently durable and easy to maintain. Our range includes everything from tempered glass to mouth-blown crystal glass – each offering its own unique qualities.

Stainless steel is timeless, creating a sense of simplicity and calm – making a subtle yet striking impression whether polished or brushed. A durable material designed to last for generations, it is available in a range of finishes that are easy to maintain.

Brass is an elegant metal with a warm, soft glow that adds subtle, magical flourishes to your interior design. We use brass-coated steel to achieve the same strength as stainless steel, while retaining the warm expression of brass.

Laminate is a durable material offering many design possibilities, with a smooth and pleasant surface that is both flexible and resilient. We use only HPL laminate and FENIX NTM nanolaminate from the Italian company Arpa Industriale.

We love using natural materials in warm textures, such as classic French wicker and FSC™-certified paper cord, including Danish cord, which has been used to create iconic Scandinavian design classics for almost 100 years.

Down and feathers instantly create a luxurious feel, elevating both the aesthetic and comfort of your design while offering lasting softness for years to come. The filling provides inviting softness and natural durability in sofas, chairs and poufs. It complies with Standard EN 12935, which requires materials to be processed under strict sanitary and hygienic conditions.

Wool is a warm and calming natural material that is naturally elastic, resilient and durable. And of course, all our wool fabrics are OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified. Wool is also 100% biodegradable, and its natural fibres can be recycled.

Invite nature indoors with rugs and baskets made from jute and seagrass – natural materials that are as beautiful as they are durable, and 100% biodegradable. Jute is woven from the strong fibres of the jute plant. Seagrass consists of dried aquatic plants that are harvested, sun-dried and traditionally used for weaving.

    • OUR CERTIFIED MATERIALS FOR YOUR DESIGNS

We don’t just talk the talk. When it comes to certifications, we share exactly where, how, and to what extent our collection is certified. This openness helps us hold ourselves accountable – not just in words, but with real numbers, real actions, and a genuine drive to do better.

THE STORY BEHIND YOUR NEW FAVOURITE FABRIC

When you touch the soft fabric on your sofa, armchair, dining chair, or cushion, you’re feeling the result of a long journey. We want you to know exactly where those fabrics come from – and how they’re made. That’s why we want to uncover every step in the story of our fabrics, from the very first fibres to the final weave.

Below, you can explore how far we’ve come – and how we’re working to know every detail behind the fabrics you love.

    LEVEL 0

    SUPPLIERS – 100%

We collaborate with trusted European suppliers who design and develop our fabrics. These suppliers help us set up the supply chain and make sure every BOLIA standard is met.

    LEVEL 1

    WEAVING – 100%

Here, the yarns come together to create the finished fabric – the weaving method and pattern shape the look and feel you experience.

    LEVEL 2

    SPINNING – 98%

Yarns are made by spinning fibres – these can be natural like wool and cotton or synthetic like polyester, often blended for durability and comfortKnowing where the yarns are spun helps us track and address potential risks for the environment and the people involved.

    LEVEL 3

    RAW MATERIALS – 84%

This is where it all begins – in cotton fields and on sheep farms. We want to know where the cotton is grown and the sheep are bred – not just to trace the materials, but to understand how animals are treated along the way.

WE ARE MAKING IT EASIER FOR YOU TO MAKE A CONSCIOUS CHOICE

We measure the climate impact of every fabric and leather type. Together with our friends at MÅLBAR, an independent Danish consultancy, we calculate the CO2eq emissions – from where the fibre is grown, produced, or recycled, to where it is dyed, and finally woven into textiles.

We do this because we believe in transparency, making it easy to compare CO2eq emissions at a glance, so you can make informed choices. But while these calculations give a clear picture of climate impact, they’re only one way of choosing your materials.

You can see the estimated climate impact next to every fabric.
